Free Speech is Enhanced by Civility?

Do you think that it's time for us to have code of conduct? Then our Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications plans to ask Bloggers using local hosted web-site to register. Censorship on Bloggers?

How about this. The AG and ACA reports to parliament. The AG is elected by the people and can only serve 4 years. The AG and ACA head as well as all ministers must published their income and assets as well as that of their immediate family every year. Newspapers don't require licenses to print. Telecast the "debates" (in quotations because you'll probably only see people shouting like monkeys and others sleeping away) from the Dewan Rakyat live.

Then, I'll consider having a code of conduct for bloggers. What gives them the right to touch bloggers when nobody can touch them. The Internet is the last bastion of free speech in Malaysia. Take that away and you castrate yourself. That's it. No hope left.

If you went to Ijok, you probably get fed up with the way the authorities (under the instruction from BN) treated BA. They even want to further limit the freedom of speech during the election campaign. Sad scenario ....
