WiFi link can be reached until 304km, off course Line of Sight.

My own setup in Cyberja, only 239m! It's meter not kilometer, I'm making a false claim! Thanks for PK to point it out :)

Are you sure it's line of sight?
Let's assume Earth's radius is 6,400km. The distance between the 2 objects is 304km. Let's assume both towers are equally high. So, the height of each tower would be (6400^2 + 152^2) ^ 0.5 - 6,400 = 1.8km.
The original transmission power would also be extremely high! Path loss would be around 150dB using the freespace model and assuming that the receiver sensitivity is -90dBm, that means that the original signal strength would be around 60dBm or 1000W! Standing in front of that radio would be like a microwave oven.
And I think your maximum is just 239m not km! :P
Yes, it's only 239 meter not kilometer. Sorry. My antenna is 17dBi, plus with the card output power 18dBm. So, it's not too high.
The link budget calculation shows that the distance with 54Mbps could be around 400 meter.
Anyway, the world record 304KM is using the high power card with around 24dBm output power, than I believe that they install booster in front of the antenna!
I recalculated the link budget and posted it. This is possible only with high power card and indeed the Italian guys were using the high power card. We have had the same card in our lab and I am sure that we can achieve the same result with better antenna gain ;)
