Am I going to get 300Mbps from my 802.11n AP?

The standard answer is "it depends"!

So how?
First, you need to configure your AP to work in 40MHz channel bandwidth.
Second, you have to make sure that there is no other non-802.11n APs surrounding your AP.
Third, your laptop should use 802.11n device.
Fourth, there is no other non-802.11n devices connected to your AP.
Fifth, all the 802.11n device connected to your AP should use 40MHz and not 20MHz channel bandwidth.

So in reality, there is almost impossible to get the full speed of 802.11n in 2.4GHz spectrum. It may be possible for 5GHz spectrum.

Stupid DOs who waste Our Money

Read this and this and this and this. Where's the Rakyat money?

If there is no Selcat, who will ever know this!

Suddenly, a Katak (jumped from one party to another, even our Dr M also said that he's now welcomed) who previously summoned by Sultan Selangor came out to defend them.

It's nothing wrong. With his limited knowledge, he still want to be the MB. This make me laugh!

Katak is dangerous. Beware PR!

The DOs who have committed somethings "wrongful" should be quit from the post.

Blogging from KLIA

On the way to JB to visit my sister, more passengers and crowds this time during festive season. The signal strength is much better this time 30dBm and still operate in 2.4GHz, no 5GHz AP in KLIA.

Salam Aidilfitri to my Muslim friends!

Linux Driver Migration

I have spent more than 1 week to migrate the wireless network driver from Linux version 2.6.15 to 2.6.28. It’s not an easy job. As usual, there are modifications required for the driver to work with newer Linux version. First of all, you need to compile the source code and ensure there is no complaint generated from the compilation process. I have encounter that the cross-compiler toolchain created with different GCC compiler may behave differently and generate different warnings and errors. Base on my observation, the higher the Linux version, the less tolerant the operating system to the driver’s coding errors.

Some of my conclusions from the migration:
- The core of Linux network devices driver has made significant modifications. Check it at ./net/core directory.
- The older compiler will be more stable compared to the newer compiler at least less warnings will be generated.

Stupid Remarks

Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said after meeting the committee members, he was “convinced” there was no political motive on the part of the protestors.

- Maybe not from the residents. But those who bring along the cow's head. They should be brought forward and investigated.

The protestors had stamped and spat on a cow’s head during the demonstration. The cow is considered a sacred animal in Hinduism.

“They also had no intentions to raise racial or religious tensions by using the cow’s head as accused by certain groups lately,” he told a press conference after the meeting at the Ministry here on Wednesday.

- Again, not the residents but for those who have conducted such a silly act!

He said also it was not the first instance that irresponsible parties had resorted to using the heads of animals in protests.

“Before there were incidents in which a pig’s head was used by irresponsible parties, including one which was wrapped in the Umno flag and left at the Umno building (in Menara Tun Hussein Onn here),” he said.

- Ok, this was the most stupid thing that I have ever heard. Suddenly, he mentioned UMNO, so UMNO is involved for sure. Otherwise, he will use better example. This issue has nothing to do with political party. But an article in Utusan claimed that noise becomes louder after PR takes over. Strange! Then, he claimed that other irresponsible peoples had done it before. Nothing wrong this time. Is this what he wants to say? Silly, stupid, irresponsible Home Minister!

He did not say when the alleged pig’s head incident took place.

- Then, he does not have the fact but he can say that as he wants!

Hishammuddin said that the organisers of the protest had “not realised that someone had brought a cow’s head to the demonstration until the last minute.”

- Again, the residents have their rights. But who are the culprits?

He added that his Ministry would monitor the discussion “closely” to ensure that a “win-win situation” could be reached.

- Bye, bye. We leave it to our stupid politician to solve this.

MCA = Mahu Cari Angpau = Money Collect Agency

MCA complaints, then we understand, even GE did not say it, we all know. But Gerakan complaints for what? If the money is from the peoples, should we question it or shut up our mouth!

Protest with "Kepala Lembu"

Irresponsible act and we Malaysian (1-Malaysia concept from Najib) sad to see what have been done above.

You still read some funny statements:

Selepas bekalan air dan elektrik dimasukkan, aktiviti mereka semakin hebat. Kuil itu hanya di seberang jalan rumah penduduk Islam Seksyen 19. Apa perasaan pembaca apabila setiap hari kami terpaksa mendengar lagu-lagu Hindu yang membingitkan telinga?

Bila mereka mengadakan keramaian mereka buat perarakan di hadapan rumah penduduk Islam. Gangguan bergendang keramaian berjam-jam lamanya.

I agree with some claims. But how come suddenly the sound becomes louder when PR takes over the state government?
